Waterbeach - Designation of Neighbourhood Area

Good Morning
I would like to register my support for the proposed Waterbeach Neighbourhood Plan.
I am a resident of the village, and I also run a small business. I believe that the whole of the proposed area should be part of the plan. As you will know most of the old married quarters site is now occupied and to me this is very much a part of the village. I believe that any further building on the barracks site should be part of the overall NDP for Waterbeach and that the people of this village need to be a part of any future planning process.

I would also like to see the rural character of the village maintained as part of any future expansion plans that may be pushed onto our community. This includes the protection of current open spaces and greenbelt sites especially on the fen edge. All building in the village needs to be looked at with care and consideration. I also have long term concerns about the sustainability of any new sites that are built on. This includes current sites which have been rejected by SCDC but passed by the government inspectors.

We have many issues in the village that need addressing including the issue of possible future flooding which I believe is a real possibility given recent events elsewhere. Poor Transport infrastructure, badly maintained Roads, parking and traffic issues should be looked at carefully to avoid huge problems and disruption for the community in the future. I believe that the residents of our village which includes Chittering should be able to be a part of the planning process, and have their legitimate concerns taken into consideration.

Finally I could not get the links to the online submission for the NDP to work, so I hope that this email will be sufficient and will be included as part of the response to the plan

The current housing on the barracks site is very much part of the village community and any new development at the barracks site will impact on the village too. The village needs to be involved in the planning and especially with reference to new infrastructure to ensure the overall plan is a cohesive one for the benefit of everybody throughout the parish. Additionally new proposed development off Bannold Road needs to be looked at in the context of the housing plans for the barracks to avoid overdevelopment and protect green spaces in and around the village as well as take account of the pressure on roads and services.

I hereby give my full support to the Waterbeach Neighbourhood Plan, the area of which should extend to include the area north of Waterbeach including Chittering, the old barracks site and Denny Abbey and the areas inbetween. I wish to positively be involved in the consultation for the new Waterbeach town should it go ahead and I feel my opinions should be taken into account as a resident in the existing village which will benefit from new facilities and may be affected adversely in other ways. Waterbeach has a special community and a special history and we have a moral duty to intervene in it's development sensitively and to develop the area in a progressive but green way promoting a town which will organically continue to provide the environment required for a lively and healthy community.

Please keep me up to date on all developments related to this Neighbourhood Plan and the development of Waterbeach community. I request that you fully involve me in the consultation process.

Thank you in advance for your consultation, sensitivity and care in looking after the future of Waterbeach and therefore the future of my children and other families in Waterbeach.

I note and applaud that this Neighbourhood Plan is being set up. I hope that both South Cambs and Waterbeach Parish Council will be proactive now in strategising for the future.

I am appalled that the Spring/Summer 2015 issue of Cambridge Architecture [www.cambridgearchitects.org] has directly inside its front cover an Urban&Civic advertisement proclaiming Waterbeach Airfield Barracks (along with Alconbury Weald) as 'viable' and 'good design' developments. There is a distinct sense of a 'done deal' here, publicly flaunted.

My hope is that development will be confined to infill of existing buildings in order to preserve the wider eco-system and heritage of this area. Serious consideration needs to be given, faster than usual, to infrastructure and the siting/services of the railway line.

Above all, I wish well to all of those who support and facilitate any public consultation. The lack of transparency at this point borders on the undemocratic - and worse.

AS a representative of the partnership JS and CR Grant Trading as Nine Tiles, a Waterbeeach business, I support the designated area proposed which should ensure that any extension and expansion to the village is done within a holistic rather than divisive manner.

I am writing in response to the Waterbeach Neighbourhood Plan Boundary consultation.

I find that the proposed boundary of the whole parish is a good idea. Given the current housing on the barracks is vey much part of our community and that any future development on this site will directly impact on the village, it must remain as part of the boundary.

The village as a whole has many ideas on how to incorporate more housing into the area without losing the unique area we live in. It's impossible for any planning to be comprehensive or cohesive unless it is inclusive.

responding to Waterbeach Neighbourhood plan boundary consultation. I feel that it is important that waterbeach keeps its own autonomy and the proposed boundary is a good idea. The village contains housing on the barracks site which was once an important part of its identity and any new housing on the barracks site will be alien to it and reduce the village character. Therefore we would like to be involved in the planning of it so that it benefits the whole of the parish instead of dividing it. We must accept the proposed boundary to retain ptotect our rural status.

It makes complete sense to consider Waterbeach as a whole and not to consider the former barracks area separately. The proposed border is fit for purpose.

My name is Rongsheng Zhang and I live in ......... I am writing to let you know that I totally support the Parish Council's proposal that the the District Council should designate a Neighbourhood Area with the boundary being the same as the parish boundary.
