Question 4: Do you agree with the list of buildings marked on the conservation area maps as potential ‘non-designated heritage assets’?
A number of buildings in the conservation area have been identified as ‘non-designated heritage assets’. Although not nationally listed, these are considered to be of local importance because of their architectural and/ or historic interest, their landmark status, communal function, association to locally important individuals or families, or a combination of these. These could be considered for inclusion on any subsequent Local Heritage List. Please answer - All / Some / None.
Question 9: Are there any areas or buildings within the boundary that detract from the conservation area, or could be improved to enhance the conservation area? Why do they detract? In what ways could they be improved?
An essential part of a Conservation Area Appraisal is an effective Management Strategy. In this section, parts of the conservation area which could be enhanced can be identified, along with actions to be taken to best manage the conservation area.
