Waterbeach - Designation of Neighbourhood Area - June 2015

Representation Summary:

I support the neighbourhood plan boundary proposed by waterbeach parish council.
It is vital the whole parish including the barracks is incorporated. Short term, families in the old married quarters will still use the facilities. It's nonsense to separate them from the village and any building on the barracks site into a separate plan, particularly now the proposed green belt separation of the village and barracks/newtown has been lost to speculative development.
Whatever happens on the barracks site impacts on the village so it needs to be a part of the planning process to ensure both the old and new can benefit from each other.

I would like to support the neighbourhood plan boundary as proposed by waterbeach parish council.
I think it is vital the whole parish including the barracks is looked at as a whole. The old married quarters area is currently part of the village, certainly in the short term children will still attend the schools in the village, families will use village shops, pubs, open spaces, buses, trains etc. It is a nonsense to separate this estate from the village and any further building on the barracks site into a separate plan. This is even more true now the proposed green belt separation of the village and barracks/newtown has been lost to speculative development.
Whatever happens on the barracks site it will deeply impact the village so the village needs to be a part of the planning process and have some control over how money from developers for infrastucture will be spent to ensure both the old and new can live alongside each other and benefit from each other.
I could not get the online submission to work so I trust this email will do instead. I know many people have wanted to respond but given up as the links/online system was too difficult/not working so I trust you will take this into account when considering the number of responses the council receives.
Yours faithfully
Christine Taylor
