Page11. Section 7.3 ".. pavements ( assume this means footways!) ...often on one side only " and fig 29 " one sided footway is appropriate.." Have the design guide authors tried pushing a child buggy or wheelchair around in Fulbourn!? Not a pleasant or safe experience! Lack of adequate footways, lack of dropped kerbs, lack of safe crossing points. HGVs getting bigger, faster and more frequent. Cars getting bigger ( SUV " tanks"), faster and more frequent. It's not only the High Street that needs wider footways! It is inconsistent to " encourage" walking within the village, but not to provide adequate footways on which to walk. And the needs of wheelchair users ( e.g. from Home Close) and parents with babies and toddlers must not take second place to the aesthetics of grass verges !
