Current CCC plan policy 67 is currently not fit for purpose in creating buffer areas around wildlife sites (see the Adam's Road Bird Sanctuary application, refused by committee against officer recommendation). All open spaces, particularly those designated for wildlife, must have a clear buffer as per Wildlife Trust and national standards preventing adjacent damaging development.
Open space must be protected. The recent approved development in Arbury on the open amenity space is the sort of development that should not be permitted.
