Respondent: Mr David Martin

Representation Summary:

Helicopter flight paths are directly over the development area, will the flight path change?
What are the noise implications of night time engine testing on the nearest houses in the development?
What are the future development plans for the airport and how will this affect the development in relation to noise?

Full text:

I support the investigation of noise from the airport in relation to the development.
Can the following questions be answered:-
1. Night time testing of aircraft engines, what are the noise levels in relation to the nearest proposed dwellings.
2. Helicopter flight paths over the proposed new estate and school. The present take off and landing flight path for the Air Ambulance and Helicopter training school is directly over the proposed development and along the green belt between Teversham and Cherry Hinton. Will this now change to follow the runway or a different flight path? If so that would reduce the noise pollution in Cherry Hinton. I wonder what the minimum flight altitude for helicopters is over housing, 500ft?
3. What is the airports future development expectations over the next 10 to 20 years and what will be the noise related increase in this time.
