FDPC welcomes the consultation and especially the demonstration that with the inclusion of the Wing development in the trajectory no other land in Fen Ditton needs to be put forward for housing development to meet the plan targets. We note that local to Fen Ditton, more houses are planned at fuel depot in Ditton Walk and at the Holy Cross site.

Cambridge East - Land north of Newmarket Road
Cambridge East - Airport
We note that the build out rate for Wing is presented as being reasonable and that the main airport site is not included.

Waterbeach New Town
The trajectory for Waterbeach New Town is a bit unclear since the LDF total is 9000 but 6500 for U&C are approved and RLW assumes 4500. If the overall total is 10,500 then the stress on Fen Ditton traffic will be higher than if the total is 9000.

We would object to the provision in the trajectory for windfall sites being the basis on which developers apply in Fen Ditton.

3. Approach to Preparing the Greater Cambridge Housing Trajectory and Five Year Supply

We have two queries about the methodology underpinning the trajectory:
1. what is the consideration of growth in numbers of dwellings in the City due to sub-division of large houses into flats without demolition or building of extensions? Are these captured within the historic data given for numbers of new homes or could this be a flaw in the national methodology?
2. how is the past and future change in commuting patterns from Greater Cambridge dealt with in the demand forecast?
