We wish to caution the Authority that the percentages included in this policy are only a snapshot in time. Housing needs will change over the plan period and the wording of this policy should be amended to be more flexible to respond to this.
Also the prescriptive nature of the tenure mix for market homes is not robust and should be amended to allow developers, when they apply for planning permission, to deliver a mix of housing which will respond to local market demand.

Land east of Cambridge Road, Sawston (HELAA site 40547) & Land east of Haverhill Road, Stapleford (HELAA site 40368)

We support locating development in areas where active and public transport is a "natural choice".
We consider that the sites we have previously submitted, known as land east of Cambridge Road, Sawston Ref: 531, and land east of Haverhill Road, Stapleford Ref: 530, are both capable of accommodating housing developments which would accord with the aims of Policy S/DS.
As well as supporting the allocation of sites in villages with very good public transport, this policy should also highlight the merits of planned public transport which improves the sustainability of villages especially though linking them to strategic employment sites.

We believe that Great Shelford with Stapleford has the ability to deliver more new homes than the 100 currently proposed.
The land east of Haverhill Road, Stapleford, is considered to be a logical and appropriate location for a mixed use scheme benefitting from enhanced public transport connectivity. we wish to amend the portion of the site submitted, to reflect a parcel that has been drawn to cluster around the proposed stop location to the south-west of the site and deliver strategic landscape planting and a new Country Park to enhance the edge of Stapleford.
