Climate change
Representation ID: 59266
Received: 13/12/2021
Respondent: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority
Support for the climate change policies. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Independent Commission on Climate, set up by the Combined Authority, has set out the climate challenges and opportunities facing the area. It noted that growth is compatible with climate change objectives, provided that appropriate action was taken on how that growth was delivered. The suite of policies in this section of the Plan show a clear path to reducing emissions from new developments, and making sure that they are resilient to future climate events.

I/ST: Sustainable transport and connectivity
Representation ID: 59295
Received: 13/12/2021
Respondent: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority
The Combined Authority is currently revising its Local Transport and Connectivity Plan. That includes consultation on the same themes of sustainable transport and connectivity as set out in this section of the Local Plan. Subject to the outcome of consultation on the LTCP there is likely to be alignment on those between the two Plans, and the Combined Authority will continue to engage with the Councils (and vice versa) to ensure alignment of policies.

The Combined Authority is consulting on its Sustainable Growth Ambition Statement. This considers good growth in the context of six 'capitals', that of Climate and Nature, Reducing Inequality, Innovation, Finance, Infrastructure and Health & Skills. The reflection of those six capitals in the emerging Greater Cambridge Local Plan policies and Sustainability Appraisal is therefore supported.
