Representation ID: 31392

Received: 16/10/2016

Respondent: A Powell

Representation Summary:

The second bullet point suggests that a current strength is the public transport links. This fails to take into account the following weaknesses in the current public transport links:
a) the fact that many of the buses passing through Mitcham's Corner do not stop there (despite promises of trials of additional stops)
b) the cuts by Stagecoach to the Citi 8 service.

The second bullet point suggests that a current strength is the public transport links. This fails to take into account the following weaknesses in the current public transport links:
a) the fact that many of the buses that pass through Mitcham's Corner (including the Busway buses and Park and Ride) do not stop there and thus do not serve the needs of those resident in or working in the area. We have been promised trials of additional stops on several occasions but these have not yet materialised;

b) the cuts by Stagecoach to the Citi 8 service (Cottenham to Addenbrooke's via Mitcham's Corner) Having first drastically reduced the frequency of this service, Stagecoach has now cut the route so that the service now terminates in the city centre and does not go on to the rail station and Addenbrooke's.
