CC/FM: Flooding and integrated water management

Representation ID: 57875

Received: 12/12/2021

Respondent: Histon & Impington Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Repeating myself here but Grey Water should be used where possible.

Regarding Flooding, before any work starts anywhere with historic flooding, flood management must be implemented before work is started and approved by independent experts. In the past, SCDC have approved plans where residents have informed them of flooding issues and within a year, area has flooded. Maybe use simulations (via independent experts).

Applications approved experiencing flooding Hunters Close Impington, Park Primary, Histon as example. Approved, residents expressed concerns, now flooding, nothing happening to fix.

BG/EO: Providing and enhancing open spaces

Representation ID: 57876

Received: 12/12/2021

Respondent: Histon & Impington Parish Council

Representation Summary:

There must be no reduction in the previous plan’s requirement for both informal and formal open space per 1000 new residents. As more and more modern homes will have less and less Gardens (if any) seriously consider increasing this and for open spaces to be within 5 minute walk and allotments within 15 minutes (stated earlier in response).

As long as it is safe to do so, fine. Where greenspaces are closed, signpost where the nearest one is. Do not close too many greenspaces in the same area at anyone time so spaces are still available.

WS/HS: Pollution, health and safety

Representation ID: 57883

Received: 12/12/2021

Respondent: Histon & Impington Parish Council

Representation Summary:

Some areas already have unacceptable pollution levels. Monitoring of existing high density areas is also required. Where new development takes place beside an area of high pollution, measure, put fix in place before work starts. Trees as a barrier will take time so temporary pollution measures whilst trees growing should also be considered.
